Ending the year with a dreadful head cold that thankfully is now fading away....

no New Years Eve revelry for me...

 

A comfy chair, a cup of tea and a little art making to mark the closing of 2011.

 Confession....I was in bed asleep at 9PM!

Beginning 2012 on a much brighter note with TWO

new NME (no more excuses) journals:

This one a much larger format with loads of room to write and create!

And the beginnings of a grand adventure called

"No More Excuses Under the Influence"!

More journaling on a daily basis with an emphasis each month

on an individual artist!

The boys of summer...Part 2

 
A few more adventures with the boys of summer!

Dell's Lemonade at Mystic Aquarium, a local treat!

The first, ever, taste of lobster!  They loved it!  A little uncertain about watching the whole steaming them in a big pot..but they gave in after the first one went in.

The daily afternoon swim to cool off.

Isn't this a beauty?  Experienced the bird house in Mystic, AMAZING!

Spent evenings in the studio making masterpieces!

Happy 4th of July!

Lest we forget the significance of this day in the midst of picnics and barbecues..

Preamble 1	When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
2.1	We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
2.2	That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.
2.3	Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed

 

And here's to Brothers who blow things up in celebration of the 4th!  They are quite a team!

Such a dear...I miss you!

Drive By Post!

Take one perfectly good red velvet cake...

break it into small pieces, yes crumble the whole thing!

 I know, it is hard, be brave!  Trust me...

Add 1/2 can of cream cheese frosting...

beat the whole mess together with a hand mixer..

Roll the resulting dough into small balls and insert a lollipop stick!

Dip in melted chocolate...toss on a few pearlized crystals..

Cake Pops!!

Once dry, arrange in a basket for your Easter dessert!

Yummy!
