I have for quite sometime done my creative work in a small lofted space overlooking the great room in my home. Lovely, functional, but small and open...It started as a sewing room: LOVE fabric and anything you can make out of it! But piles of quilts slowly became forced into smaller and smaller space as I acquired more and more art supplies and branched out. Not to mention the lack of quiet in an open space..
So with a little planning and really, very little arm twisting, my DH who is quite handy with building materials built a "real" studio on the lowest level of the house! Big, bright, inspirational!
Still moving in and finding a home for everything..
This work table has two shelves below for flat paper storage! Yes please note the requisite red licorice.
An 8 foot countertop with loads of storage below! I made curtains to disguise the clutter.
Open wall space for canvas work. These beauties were done by my "other daughter" Morgan. We are sharing this space together. Such fun!
Masonite boards for working on the wall with paper. These can be taken down as swapped out for others should you jump from one painting to another. I watched Morgan work on both of these last night while I worked at the table. Awesome!
And there is a lovely view of the back yard garden out the windows!
Welcome to my "happy place"!
