No More Excuses Journaling in November

My art journaling bag, thankfully reorganized after weeks of neglect!  This baby travels throughout the house and beyond with me on a daily basis..if left alone things magically appear inside!  If you would like to have your own, these canvas journal bags can be found at danielsmith.com.

California Adventure part 2...

Things I did while on a whirlwind trip through southern California..

Enjoyed a tasty beverage at a sidewalk cafe in Pasedena with sister Judi and dear frined Ginny..also made a visit to Zinnia which was of course fabulous!

An evening of art journaling at Gina's house..would you look at that washi tape stash!  

Oh such creative fun!

Celebrated Judi's birthday at a fabulous Malibu restaurant, Savory.  I'll not tell her age..

And a stop at the French General!!!

Somewhere in the afternoon there was:

**an accidental wine tasting,

**a visit to the LA Library( wonderful!),

**lunch with #1 Son

**and a fine dinner provided by my brother-in-law prior to departure back east.

We wasted not a minute..needed a day of sleep to recover..

I miss my bbs..

Painting with Flora Bowley...California Adventure Part 1

Just returned from sunny (?) southern California and a fabulous painting workshop in Malibu!  It rained like crazy...

The fabulous Flora Bowley and our hostess with the mostest Gina Armfield!

Spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean from the windows of the workshop, inspiring!

paint, paint and more paint, a hint of what is to come...

Such a joyful process as we learned mark making, color infusion and letting go on a LARGE canvas, with a little yoga and dancing thrown in for good measure.

did I mention we worked on two canvases simultaneously?

I returned home with one finished canvas and a work in progress.  Traveling cross country require pulling staples and folding work, both are now restretched and waiting in my studio.

A heartfelt thank you to Flora and Gina for an amazing experience and to all the wonderful artists in this workshop.

I must admit I am quite proud of myself.  I've done it, each morning, over coffee, without fail, for almost a year! That is an accomplishment!
