"Creativity in Flight" in my No More Excuses journal.

 

From beginning to end

Drizzle a little color

Spray with water

Let it run and bloom

Watch the paint dry

 

 

Paint with your fingers

Make a mess

Do a little dance while the paint dries..

 

 

Drizzle a little more color

Spray with more water

Stand back and look for inspiration...

and wait for the paint to dry...

 

 

Ta Da!

 

And what have I learned?  

I have clearly identified my color palette..

definitely blues and greens.

Did I mention it is really important to wait for the

paint to dry?

So much for cleaning house....

I had the best intentions, really I did...

but unfinished canvases from months ago,

put on hold because of foot surgery were begging for attention.

 

And once I started I could not stop, a little like eating popcorn....

POOF!.. the day was gone.  But these beauties are now complete!

 

And I feel better, much better..hate unfinished work..

ahem, there is that housework.

Tomorrow, I promise.

Oh boy it's hot!!

Day three of the New England heat wave...

Heat index of 90 already!

I fear the Iris have given up.

Took this photo at 6 AM while out with Miss Maggie...

 

Mother Nature can be cruel...

now the choices for the day,

clean house or go to the studio and paint? 

hmmmm

Under the Influence

This month's No More Excuses-Under the Influence artist is

Amedeo Modigliani..such a tragic and early end...

If you are not familiar with him-go look him up!

 

 

Much of his distinctive style is evident

in the work of many current artists...

tilted heads, elongated faces, necks and noses..

 

Rather than rely solely on my trusty watercolor paints,

I used oil pastels (love them!) and simple line drawings for a few illustrations.

All those art supplies...must use them!

He's buried in Paris at Pere LaChaise...

an incredible cemetery,

I've been to his grave...

have you? 

 

Evening in the garden

June has arrived and the garden is in full glory.  

 

 

Given the unusually warm and early spring,

things are

popping out of the ground!  

 

Say hello to Jonah..he's a permanent resident in the pond, clearly identifiable because of  a distinct scar following a close call with a snake...long story..my but he has grown!

 

Faries reside here...at least I like to think so...

Hiding in the iris..and he doesn't eat a thing.  I like that.

 

 

A quiet place to rest.
