It's All About The WHIMSY!

Something different, just because..

I started this AGES ago...

and yesterday I finally had the opportunity to finish it..

even better, I think I really like it!  

 

 

 

As we know this is not always the case.  I have a different canvas that will be gessoed in it's entirety tomorrow...that one I'm not liking so much.  Thank goodness for gesso, it's a good thing.

A timeline of sorts....on the occasion of my 60th birthday

I am counting today, in tens, on the occasion of my 60th birthday...

how in the world did that happen???

 I certainly don't feel 60

and I'm certain that many would say I hardly act my age...

In honor of my many decades here's a brief look back...

Ten...goodness look at those bangs!! Mom what were you thinking?

 

Twenty.. College, love the bell bottoms! Not really straight hair,

I ironed it for that look.  Any one else do that?

Thirty....in Munich, Germany, clear evidence of Jet lag!

 

 Forty....a sunny California trip

 

Fifty....on the front porch with a brief glimpse of baby sister in the corner..

too soon to post a 60 photo....that will have to wait for another day..

My big book

 

I have a large format hand made journal that is my go to book for art journaling.  It's always interesting to go back and look at previous pages.  Here are a few of my favorites! 

Are you a "journaler"( Is that even a word?) Have you found a format you love?  I've tried to find just the perfect book but always seem to end up making my own.  Favorite paper? Fabriano 140lb. hot press.  Suits my purpose just fine.

I've started a new on line class called Smashing Autumn!  Such grand fun to focus on the season and create an art journal.  Gina Armfield has such wonderful ideas and is truely an inspiring teacher.

It's a good thing!

Oh how I LOVE Fossil, all things Fossil.  I'll admit to a purse and tote obsession...I try to be good but sometimes I can't help myself.  These oil cloth zipper bags are perfect for holding suppies in my journal bag.  Fabulous!  I smile just looking at them..and they are useful!  Therefore I feel justified, so there!

It Feels like Fall!

 

I LOVE Fall!  The colors, the smell, the crunch of leaves...

 

 

 

It's coming, I can feel it..slowly... but all the signs are there....

 

Soon we will be awash in red, orange and yellow.  Some years the color is muted...last year after Hurricane Irene, everything turned brown and dropped overnight..

 

This year holds the promise of something spectacular!

It's my favorite time of year in the small seaside village.

 

And I am waiting, camera at the ready!
