A frog poised for action in the pond in the early morning light, such a cutie!

 

Although it's been quite warm the lettuces in the veggie garden keep producing such a colorful display, and tasty too.

 

My awesome nephew Robbie helping out in the pond.   Quite willing for an adventure deadheading the lily pads.  To my surprise he also discovered an enormous number of fish eggs!  Quite the keen eye.

Endings and beginning again...

After a long Spring of ups and downs sweet Mateo passed in early June...fortunately for all it was quick and for Mateo relatively painless.  I will spare you all the details.  For the first time in 30 years we were catless.  Such an odd feeling.  

Enter the new kid on the block!

 

 

We rescued Alfie, a 4 year old male from the the Town's Animal Shelter.  He was "surrendered" by his owner because a health issue that required surgery that they could not afford. Risky, yes I know, with little in background information you never know what you might get...The Shelter arranged for his surgery and as luck would have it, I know the vet who volunteered his services to set him right.  

 

We certainly picked a winner! Quite affectionate and well behaved, it's as though he has always been here.

 

 

My nephew Robbie was here for a few weeks and they became the best of friends. And once again our house feels like a home...
